Sioux City Kid takes a spin in Jack White's musical time machine

Jack White and Third Man Records debuted their refurbished 1947 Voice-O-Graph machine on Record Store Day, and we were lucky enough to take it for a spin on its inagural day. It is the only working one in existence, so we were pumped to get inside. After a healthy wait in line, we were ushered into a secluded area of Third Man where the booth was housed. The booth is TINY, Jared was hardly able to fit in by himself, but he came out with an awesome version of Heartbreak Shakedown, a song from the upcoming record. We instantly found a record player and recorded a digitized copy for your entertaiment. Luckily we recorded the first play, the record wouldn't play all the way through after the first run!

Read more...Exciting news from the SCK camp! We have been invited to perform as support for the fantastic band He's My Brother, She's My Sister for a leg of their upcoming west coast tour. HMBSMS has a great sound and we are pumped to join them on the following dates throughout California:
1/22 - Humboldt Brews, Arcata CA
1/30 - SLO Brew, San Luis Obispo, CA
1/31 - Fulton 55, Fresno, CA
and
2/1 - The Independent, in our very own hometown of SF, CA

We're on a mad hunt for the best studio, engineers, mixers and masterers we can find right now, and we're counting the days until everything is in place and we are officially in production mode.
